Zone Alarm Pro Setup

  1. Open Zone Alarm Pro(ZAP) installer by double-clicking it.
  2. Once installer begins, it will tell you the folder ZAP will be installed in, if this is ok click .
  3. Enter you're appropriate information in the User Information area, then click .
      Note: We recommend you check the box next to register ZAP for updates.
  4. Accept the License Agreement by clicking .
  5. Fill out the User Survey and click .
  6. Click to start Zone Alarm Pro now.
  7. Click the circle next to "I have purchased Zone Alarm Pro," then click .
  8. Enter the License Key you received when you purchased ZAP, then click .
      If License Key is correct a box will pop-up then click .
  9. ZAP configuration will then open, click .
  10. Select the privacy level you would like then click .
  11. Select the alert settings you would like then click .
  12. When prompted to create a password, we strongly recommend you do so to prevent children from changing ZAP security settings in order to circumvent the on-line protection. After entering passwords click .
  13. When asked to "Preconfigure access permissions", select "No" that way no programs you don't want accessing the Internet get access, and then click .
  14. If you would like to view the ZAP tutorial check the box as such, we recommend this in order to help you understand how to use ZAP effectively, then click .

Keys to Successful Use
  • When new programs attempt to access the Internet we recommend a box will appear if you want to allow everyone to use these programs check the box next to "Remember this answer the next time I use this program," then click "Yes." To use a program without allowing others to use it, simply click yes, but do not check the box. If you are not logged in to ZAP you will be prompted to enter you administrative password.

  • Please sure to logout of ZAP after logging in, to prevent children from changing settings.
